  • DENTAL CARE

Regular professional teeth and gum cleaning is important to maintain your pet's health. An infection in your pet's mouth is just like one in his or her kidney, heart, liver or lung. The infection can easily spread from the gums throughout the entire body via the bloodstream.

We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface that is more resistant to plaque buildup while fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel.

  • IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include the following:

    • Comprehensive physical exam

    • Heartworm and flea control
    • Vaccination program
    • Spay and neuter package
    • Specialized blood tests for all life stages

  • "LONG LIFE" CARE FOR PETS IN THEIR GOLDEN YEARS

Unfortunately, pets age much faster than humans but serious health problems can often be prevented or delayed with regular exams and early geriatric testing. Our staff has extensive experience with extending and enriching the lives of senior cats with kidney disease and senior dogs with arthritis.

  • PAIN MANAGEMENT

We know that your pets are beloved members of your family. Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. At Abraham Veterinary Clinic, we provide the most up to date medications to relieve your pet's acute pain from trauma or post-surgery. We also strive to relieve chronic pain from arthritis with modern anti-inflammatories, pain killers, and acupuncture.

  • MICROCHIPPING

Why should you get your pet microchipped? All pets should wear collar tags with their owner's phone number. However, these tags often come off, and the pet cannot be identified. Microchips provide a permanent means of identification that cannot be lost. Each microchip has a unique number. This number, along with information about the owner and pet, are added to a national pet registry. All animal shelters and most veterinarians have electronic scanners that can detect and ready these implanted microchips. This has helped to reunite over 178,000 lost pets with their owners.

A microchip is a tiny electronic device, about the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted beneath a pet's skin between the shoulder blades, and stays there for the pet's entire life. This procedure is simple and painless, similar to gettting a vaccine.

  • ACUPUNCTURE

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, disease is the result of an imbalance of energy in the body. Acupuncture is believed to balance this energy and help the body heal. In Western terms, acupuncture can assist the body to heal itself by stimulating nerves, increase blood circulation, relieve muscle spasm, and cause the release of hormones.

At Abraham Veterinary Clinic, we commonly use acupuncture to relieve pain and inflammation associated with back and neck pain as well as arthritis pain. Acupuncture can be help improve appetite and well-being in older pets.

For most pets, the insertion of acupuncture needles is virtually painless. Many animals become very relaxed and may even become sleepy.
